Your first visit to Solihull Osteopathic Practice
Where is Solihull Osteopathic Practice and how can I get there?
Solihull Osteopathic Practice is situated in central Solihull, along the bustling Warwick Road. We are easily accessible from all areas in Solihull and Surrounding areas within Birmingham. Solihull Train Station is a quick 5–10-minute walk from our clinic and there are also plenty of bus routes nearby. We also offer an open car parking area at the front of our clinic if you wish to travel by car.
What happens when I arrive at Solihull Osteopathic Practice?
When you arrive at the clinic you will be welcomed by one of our reception staff at the desk who will ask for your name. Our receptionists are Donna, Fiona, Jodie, and Georgie (have a look on the name wall to see who it is!) One of our team will ask you to wash your hands in our toilet (directly opposite the door) and then you’ll be asked to take a seat until your Osteopath is ready to see you.
What happens whilst I am in the waiting room?
Whilst you are taking a seat our receptionists check you have completed the required forms which are logged on our system. Your Osteopath will be disinfecting the room and applying their PPE before they come out to greet you. Our Osteopaths generally run on time but they may sometimes get carried away talking with their patients and may run a few minutes behind schedule! This is why we ask you to arrive exactly on time for your appointment, so you are not waiting for longer than you need to be!
I am in the treatment room… Now what?
On your first visit, your initial consultation and treatment usually last between 45-60 minutes. Our Osteopaths will ask you a list of questions regarding your general health, the problem you have come in for, hobbies and many more! The information you provide us is confidential and will stay between yourself and your Osteopath.
Will I receive treatment at my initial Consultation and Treatment with Solihull Osteopathic Practice?
Yes! Our Osteopaths will provide both a consultation and treatment at your first visit. It is likely your osteopath will ask you to remove some of your clothing so they can examine you thoroughly. Please let your Osteopath know if you are uncomfortable with this. And feel free to bring a family member or friend along to the treatment also if this makes you feel more comfortable.
What will happen after my consultation and treatment?
After your first appointment, you will go home with an idea for the future. Your Osteopath will provide you with a tailored exercise/stretching programme that they will have guided you through at the end of your appointment. Your Osteopath will also have provided you with follow-up appointment options to ensure you are on the road to recovery. Follow-up appointments are generally recommended between 1-3 weeks after your initial consultation, but this generally depends on your condition and availability.
And that is it! Your initial consultation and treatment here at Solihull Osteopathic Practice is done! We look forward to seeing you again soon…
